Day 9: Take a Fresh Look at Parramatta?

C’mon TripAdvisor, your “things to do” in Parramatta are basically… not in Parramatta. 💀 It’s giving “there’s nothing here, so go somewhere else.” Not sure if that’s shade from TripAdvisor or they just don’t really know the area. Take a fresh look at Parramatta!

From what we saw, like many cities, it’s mostly concrete and glass — very corporate-core. Maybe there are some hidden gems, but we were not in explorer mode today. It was 33+ degrees and absolutely not the weather for walking tours.

We pulled up by bus and immediately made a beeline for Westfield Parramatta because AC = survival. After that, we hopped on a bus to the ferry terminal and took a cruise back to Circular Quay. Right decision, honestly.

Fun fact: the ferry technically runs hourly, but there’s this random two-hour gap late morning because low tide on the Parramatta River said “not today.” Apparently the water gets too shallow for the ferry to make it all the way in. Nature really said schedule who? 🌊

On a cooler day the river area this of Parramatta would absolutely be worth exploring. Walking or bike cruising along the river path looks a must do. In fact renting a bike, cruising the river path and then ferrying back looks like a Tripadvisor “thing to do
