Day 59: Visiting Stanley

Nope, today wasn’t a cute lil friend hang — visiting Stanley was full-on, no shame, tourist mode 😌✈️

Stanley’s this small spot on the south side of Hong Kong Island. It’s got big colonial vibes — named after some British guy who later became PM, and it was even the OG capital back in the early Hong Kong days. But obviously, it’s way more than that — there’s a whole deep history with Chinese communities who were there long before the British showed up.

Getting there though? Low-key the highlight. The road curves around Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay with insane views of the South China Sea 🌊 Like actually stunning. The bus ride is kinda wild too — sharp turns, narrow roads — but honestly, worth it for the views alone.

When you get there, there’s this touristy area near the front with all the usual stuff — clothes, electronics, antiques, you name it. If you’re on gift duty, it’s actually a solid spot… and yeah, you have to haggle or you’re doing it wrong 💀
