Day 56: The Lion Rocks

The Lion Rocks

Okay so getting from Kowloon to Sha Tin means crossing some absolutely unhinged terrain including Lion Rock. It’s this iconic 500-meter-high mountain in Hong Kong and no cap it actually looks like a crouching lion from the ridge. Absolutely bussin views. There’s tunnels underneath for trains and cars and there’s even a whole set of steps to take you to the top. From there a walking path through the forest brings you down to Sha Tin. It’s lowkey a serious climb and there are literal monkey gangs at the top who will absolutely yoink any food you leave lying around so slay responsibly bestie.
Today we didn’t actually hit the full hike, we’re not gonna lie. We stayed in the lower reaches and got some fine pics of the mountain and the views over Kowloon. It gave everything though. But fr when you’re feeling that main character energy you should def do the whole thing, it goes hard. The Lion rocks!

The monkey warning stays — that’s just facts 🐒
