Getting back to Auckland? So yeah, turns out Mangawhai is over an hour north of the city… which basically ate up our whole morning. To be fair though, we did make a very necessary coffee stop in a place called Silverdale — kinda misleading name tbh because there was absolutely nothing silver about it. Not a single reminder of the actually nice Silverdale village up in northern Lancashire (10/10 would recommend if you ever get the chance).
Grabbed a really good lunch back in the city, then hit the cinema to watch an amazing movie about Samoan tenor Pene Pati — honestly such a great watch, you should check it out if you can.
Tomorrow’s our last full day in Auckland, so now it’s the classic holiday endgame: trying to find souvenirs and gifts while also figuring out how they’re supposed to fit into suitcases that somehow keep getting smaller. 😅🧳
