Today we pulled up to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds – aka where the OG peace deal between the British and Māori went down and where big talks about NZ’s future still happen 🇳🇿 A good place to learn more about the formation of NZ and kiwi identity.
We did the full experience fr: guided tour, museum, gift shop (obviously), saw the massive waka (canoe), and the cultural performance which was actually 🔥 – singing, dancing, haka, spear skills and all that. Learned heaps about where Māori culture comes from, the Polynesian connections, and how important mutual respect between Māori and British cultures is.
Low-key feel like this is a must-visit if you’re coming to New Zealand. Actually worth it.
